Middle East is under western fire, we all know that. Now
that Syrian president Assad has formally stepped down couple of weeks ago after
ruling the middles eastern country for more than 3 decades, common question
arises; what next? Seriously, you’d still ask what next, I mean that’s what just happened
in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia one shouldn’t ask ‘what next’ instead one should
ask why on the earth is it happening in that region? Middle East has always
been focal point of super powers’ lens; they have either controlled the region
by military occupation, in case of Palestinian occupation of Israel, or
installing puppet regimes examples of which are current Arab leadership.
Since the 1980s, the American political
leadership has seen occupation of other lands, installation of puppet regimes
through invasions, and plunder of other people’s natural resources as
“America’s pre-ordained destiny”. Reagan was not the first to articulate this,
but he was certainly one of the most influential American presidents to leave
behind a doctrine of aggression which continues to dominate American foreign
policy.
On
August 18, 1980, addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention at Chicago,
he broadly outlined this doctrine. It must have been a right-wing ideologue who wrote the speech – for the sophistication of language and ideas in this speech are
far beyond Reagan. No matter, whoever was the brain behind the speech, there
could not have been a more lucid articulation of what America was to do in the
decades that followed.
Reagan
criticized the Carter administration for its perceived failure to “see any
threatening pattern in the Soviet presence, by way of Cuban proxies, in so much
of Africa, which is the source of minerals absolutely essential to the
industrialized democracies of Japan, Western Europe, and the US. We are
self-sufficient in only five of 27 MINERALS IMPORTANT TO US INDUSTRIALLY AND
STRATEGICALLY, and so the SECURITY OF OUR RESOURCE LIFE LINE IS ESSENTIAL.” He
saved his punch lines for the closing of the speech: “But let’s do the better job
of EXPORTION AMERICANISM…I believe it is our preordained destiny to show all
mankind that they, too, can be FREE without having to leave their native
shore.”
America
in the name of exporting Americanism and in the name of its preordained destiny
used the Muslims of Middle East as pawns on the vast checkered board of
geo-political chess for their own strategic interest to ‘secure their resource
life line’. Installing a puppet regime and then uninstalling it is what have
been going on in that region.
So for
us to ask ‘what next’ in case of Syria should be replied in a way that it
begins all over again with a new face replacing the old one, who will ensure
the continuity of resource life line to US and its allies, who will look after
the geo-strategic interests of US and its allies, who cares if those of Syrians
or of Egyptians or of Tunisians or of Libyans are undermined.
Our leaders
have been so terrorized by the interminable war that began in Oct 2001 that now
they have utterly lost their self respect, they are morally at their lowest
ebb, they seem not interested in taking out Muslim world from this western
tyranny and dictation, sitting behind high security walls living a luxurious
life, they have left at the mercy of our enemies. All hail to Iran and its
leadership as they defy all odds of west, despite the fact that the new rounds
of US sanctions have almost broken its financial backbone, yet it looks
straight into their eyes, Iran is the only Muslim country I see today to be
free of any puppet regime as I see no sign of anything like Arab spring; a
master piece created behind closed doors of Capitol to use it to dispose of
their old puppets and help them to introduce new ones and export Americanism,
as Reagan said.
In all
these going ons OIC, a respected organization of Muslim world, acted as an
extinct body and Arab league on the other hand worked upon the directives from
its masters in the West. It was yet another grand display of Muslim standing
against Muslim and rest of the Muslim world standing in spectate mode while our
enemies takes on us. Everywhere Muslim innocent Muslim blood is spilled and goes
unnoticed, Holy Quran is desecrated in their military bases and we can’t do
anything except cry and shout like a handicap; so helpless, so vulnerable we
are, our forefathers wouldn’t have thought of all this about their coming generations;
us. Our leaders seem to have lost faith in ALMIGHTY or perhaps they learnt
nothing from history of our forefathers who defeated the superpowers of their
times, who gave up their lives rather than bowing to their enemies and selling their
self respect.
